UNDERSTANDING SERVANTHOOD

Part 5: When is the heart right?

In the church, everything should be about servanthood. Jesus says that He needs servant leaders. To find out if we are servant leaders, it is important to question our motives. Why are we doing what we do? How much is our focus on Him and away from ourself? Examine your heart: Is it right?

Bible verses: Matthew 20:25-28; Philippians 2:3-8

Part 6: Serving is central

The Lord is continually checking the attitude of our hearts. A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart. In this clip, we find out how he does this.

Bible verses: Proverbs 21:3; Proverbs 17:3

Part 7: Characteristics of a True Servant

Moses is a good example of a true servant of God. Here is a summary of his qualities:

  1. The true servant is not interested in a position or job.
  2. The true servant serves willingly.
  3. The true servant makes sacrifices.
  4. The true servant wants to give and not take.
  5. The true servant has found his purpose in life.
  6. The true servant has an inner strength that the others do not have.
  7. The true servant is focused on the heavenly Father.

And now the question for us is: How are things for us personally in our ministry? Are we true servants?

Bible verses: Hebrews 11, 24:27
